My work is built from what’s discarded━machines, lenses, fragments, memories, inconvenient feelings, unspent truths. These materials, like identities, refuse singular definitions. They are broken yet functional, sharp yet transparent. Each piece is an act of repair that does not hide its fractures but re/fracts them, insisting that multiplicity itself is a form of survival.

    As a queer, autistic, trans man adopted from China and raised in the conservative South, I understand “fracture” not as loss but as architecture and opportunity. My practice questions who decides what wholeness looks like. I construct assemblages that expose internal systems━emotional, mechanical, social━where the invisible pressures of conformity are made visible through light, reflection, interactivity.

    For me, transformation is not about erasure━but translation. I am proud of my 23-year-long lesbian career. That version of me was real but not final. In my art, transformation continues as broken circuits become connections and shattered lenses become fractured sight. Healing comes through my natural gathering, sensing, and remaking of what others abandon. I enact the radical act of self-definition in that I freely tell myself who I am before the world can name me!
